Why CIDG-SOCCSKSARGEN for Marvin Marcos? Bato says it was vacant

Why was Superintendent Marvin Marcos appointed regional director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in SOCCSKSARGEN region?

PNP chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa said it could have been the vacancy the CIDG had and that Marcos could fill.

This developed despite the homicide charges Marcos and several other police officers are facing in connection with the killing of suspected drug lord Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa.

Dela Rosa said the PNP had decided to lift the suspension slapped on Marcos and the other police officers linked to the case.

"Maybe that’s the bakante ng puwesto, na nakita ng CIDG para mapuntahan niya," Dela Rosa told reporters when asked about the post given to Marcos despite the pending homicide case filed against him in connection with the Espinosa slay.

"Back to normal duties na sila, ok na, pwede na silang i-deploy," he added.

Dela Rosa stressed that the case of Marcos, the police official implicated in the killing of detained Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa, underwent due process.

"Nadesisyunan na na ibalik sila. I mean 'yung administrative case... kasi ang administrative case naman ang mapupuntahan mo diyan either dismissed from the service, one rank demotion, suspension or admonition or exoneration. Hindi lang ako sigurado. Basta hindi siya dismissal, hindi siya one rank demotion, nasa suspension lang yata. Basta ngayon back to normal na sila," Dela Rosa said.

"Well, ipinakita naman natin na gumagana ang justice system, tumatakbo, that’s normal. Kung 'yung drug pusher o druglord eh me kini-claim silang due process, eh bakit hindi natin puwedeng ibigay doon sa pulis, dumaan siya sa due process, then after the due process ito pa rin ang natamo niya, eh bakit hindi natin matanggap-tanggap?" he added.

He pointed out that the case of Marcos underwent a thorough investigation.

"Sa amin naman sa PNP 'yung kanilang administrative case. May IAS (Internal Affairs Service) na nag-imbestiga, at nagtakbo sa kaso niya. Kung ang ibinigay sa kanya hindi dismissal, suspension lang or whatever, lower than what is expected by the public, may mga rason yan kung bakit," the PNP chief said.

Marcos has been appointed head of the CIDG-SOCCKSARGEN as confirmed by Chief Superintendent Cedric Train of Region 12 police.

Meanwhile, dela Rosa vowed that he would not allow impunity in the police force.

"I will exhaust everything I can do, humanly possible to conquer impunity sa imagination ninyo, kung meron mang impunity, I’ll do everything I can do," he said. —NB, GMA News
