DOH warns vs. ill-effects of marijuana amid gummi-weed, tsongkileyt scare

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reminded the public on the harmful effects of marijuana following reports that there were marijuana-laced gummy bears and chocolates being sold to students.

According to a report by Marisol Abdurahman on "24 Oras," the DOH is now coordinating with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regarding this matter.

Kasi nga high nga sila," explained DOH Assistant Secretary Dr. Eric Tayag, noting that marijuana will affect the mental capacity of individuals, which can later result in hallucination.

Meanwhile, some parents already expressed concern over the reported marijuana-laced candies.

—Anna Felicia Bajo/NB, GMA News
