Nova Princess says father had ‘had so much respect’ for Duterte
Detained Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog asked President Rodrigo Duterte and the Senate to investigate the raid in which her father and 15 others were killed.
According to a Friday report on GMA 7 news program "24 Oras" Nova Princess said in a statement that her father, Reynaldo Parojinog had so much respect for Duterte.
"Please help us achieve justice," said Nova Princess. "I am asking you all for help, specially the Senate to call for an investigation so that truth and justice shall truly be achieved.
"They murdered my father Mayor Aldong, my Mama Susan, my Uncle Avio and my Aunte Mona, and our relative Daryl," she added, insisting that "there was irregularity on what happen that night."
Nova Princess also reiterated that the evidence against her family had been planted by authorities.
"They planted guns and drugs on our homes. They took the hard drives of our CCTV which is very important for the truth to come out," she insisted.
Furthermore, her father had no firearms as these had been surrendered to the Philippine National Police (PNP) August 2016.
She also denied that their body guards had shot at police officers, and they thus did not initiate the alleged gunfight.
"Wala po mga baril ang mga tao na nasa labas ng kalsada malapit sa aming bahay. We have blue guards... shotgun ang mga baril nila. Sigurado ako na hindi po sila lalaban dahil pulis ang nakaharap nila," Nova Princess said.
The vice mayor also claimed that she was separated from her son and his basketball teammates during last Sunday's raid, and a grenade was tossed a her way. She picked the grenade up and threw it back.
Nova Princess also dismissed claims that her family was planning retaliatory attacks.
"I hope they will stop fabricating stories making our family appear like warlords because we are not," she countered. — Anna Felicia Bajo/DVM, GMA News
