Public Attorney's Office chief Persida Acosta on Tuesday said the wounds of minor Kian Loyd delos Santos speak of the manner in which he was killed.
‘Yung location ng wounds, lumilitaw na meron pong pang-aabuso," she said in an interview on Unang Balita.
Acosta iterated that delos Santos’ family will file a case of murder against the police officers who killed the minor.
She said on Monday that the PAO will assist the family in filing the case.
"Base po sa initial findings ng ating forensics team, most likely murder ang kaso po," Acosta said on Unang Balita on Tuesday.
The PAO chief said the forensics team is finalizing the written report about delos Santos' case.
Acosta also noted how the gunshots that killed Kian were similar to that of the late Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.
Ganoong-ganoon 'yung kay Kian,” she said.
Acosta also said the forensics team did not see traces of Kian’s resistance, opposite to what the police claimed.
She suspected that someone is sabotaging the investigations.
She then called out the police involved in the alleged killing of delos Santos.
" the PAO chief said.
Acosta also sees mistaken identity as a possibility which led to the death of delos Santos. She also considered the lack of training of the police officers involved.
“Puwede rin. Nakita ko 'yung mga sangkot na dalawa. Bago [pa lang], e. PO1 [Police Officer 1]. Malamang kulang sa training. 'Yung isa ay PO3," she said.
She then warned other abusive police.
“Kung may abuso, managot sila sa husgado,” Acosta said.
Initial investigations showed delos Santos suffered two gunshot wounds in the head and another in the back.
Delos Santos was a 17-year-old student who was killed during a police operation in Caloocan City on Wednesday.
Police said he was a drug suspect and fired at them, but relatives and witnesses said this was not true. —Akari Nakano/KG, GMA News
