Imelda, Imee visit Marcos tomb at Libingan on Nat'l Heroes Day

Ilocos Norte Representative Imelda Marcos marked National Heroes Day on Monday with a visit to the tomb of her late husband, President Ferdinand Marcos, at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

A report on 24 Oras said Rep. Marcos was on a wheelchair and was accompanied by her daughter, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos.

The Marcoses arrived at the Libingan ng mga Bayani before the National Heroes Day ceremony there led by President Rodrigo Duterte, the report said.

Former President Marcos' burial at the heroes' cemetery in November last year was met with strong opposition, as critics noted the high number of human rights abuses under his administration.

The issue reached the Supreme Court, which ruled that the burial did not violate any law. —KBK, GMA News
