Fire breaks out in Mindanao State University in Marawi

A fire broke out at the Mindanao State University in Marawi City on Sunday evening, according to GMA News Reporter Jun Veneracion.

In a post on his Twitter account at 8:49 p.m. on Sunday, Veneracion posted a photo from the Lanao del Sur Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office showing a fire at the Mindanao State University.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, and no further details have been released so far.

Fighting between government forces and members of the Maute terror group has been ongoing in the Lanao del Sur capital since May 23. President Rodrigo Duterte imposed martial law over the entire Mindanao until the end of the year as a result. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
