Duterte denies knowing Snooky Cruz, Trillanes’ tale of P10-M swindle

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday denied paying P10 million for evidence against Senator Antonio Trillanes, adding that he didn’t know the person that the senator said was the source of the expensive information.

Trillanes had alleged that Malacanang paid the huge amount to a certain Daniel "Snooky" Cruz in exchange for information against him. He said Duterte was tricked into paying for false evidence.

Duterte told reporters in Malacañang on Wednesday that he only knew of Snooky the actress and the one appearing in comic books. As regards the latter, he must have been referring to Snoopy the beagle.

"Wala akong kilala. Ang kilala kong si Snooky ‘yung artista pati ‘yung sa comics, sa totoo lang," Duterte said.

During his privilege speech on Tuesday, Trillanes said Cruz was the source of information of the President's claim that the senator maintained offshore accounts.

Duterte also denied Trillanes' claim that he spent P10 million for the information.

"I will not spend any single centavo for him. He is not worth even one piso to me. Isang piso rather. One peso," Duterte said. —NB, GMA News
