Inday Sara to Trillanes: Where's your proof of Sammy Uy payola?

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte challenged Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Friday to present proof that her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, received millions from businessman Sammy Uy while he was still vice mayor of the city.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Sara Duterte wants proof of Trillanes' accusation that her father and his common-law wife Honeylet Avancena received P118 million from Uy between October 2011 to April 2013.

"Kung nag-accuse siya nang ganu'n, dapat siya ang mag-prove na totoo ang sinasabi niya," Sara said.

Sara admitted to knowing Uy, a Davao-based businessman who owns an appliance center.

Uy was also one of President Duterte's biggest campaign donors in the 2016 national elections.

GMA News has reached out to Uy for comment.

Trillanes filed a complaint with the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) regarding Duterte's alleged hidden wealth, totaling P2 billion in deposits and credits, in August.

Duterte hit back and accused Trillanes of maintaining off-shore bank accounts though he later claimed that he made the accounts up to confuse the senator. —Rie Takumi/JST, GMA News
