Another ASEAN convoy dry run set for Sunday

Motorists are urged to steer clear of certain major roads in Metro Manila and nearby areas over the weekend due to another dry run — the last one — for the next month's Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit and Related Meetings.

According to a report on News To Go on Friday, motorists are advised to avoid the southbound lane of EDSA, NLEX, and SCTEX this Sunday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The north and southbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard should also be avoided as 20 convoys that will be used in the dry run will pass by these roads.

Police will run the convoys from Clark International Airport to the hotels the ASEAN delegates will stay in and to the venue of the event.

Road repairs along NLEX and SCTEX will be suspended beginning Friday and will resume after all activities related to the ASEAN Summit are concluded on November 16.

National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Oscar David Albayalde on Thursday said NLEX will be closed at intervals for traveling delegates and leaders.

Most of the 21 leaders of the ASEAN Summit will arrive on November 11 and depart on November 14. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
