Roque shrugs off Trillanes’ ‘nasapian’ comment

Acting presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Thursday refused to engage in a word war with Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

An his first briefing in Malacañang, Roque laughed when asked for his response to Trillanes' comment that he was possessed by an evil spirit after joining Duterte's administration.

"I think that’s in line with Halloween. So let’s leave it at that," he said.

Trillanes made the remark after Roque said in a video posted by Presidential Communications Operations Office Asec. Mocha Uson on her Facebook page that he would throw hollow blocks at Duterte's critics.

Roque explained he was talking to Uson's 5.5 millions followers on Facebook.

"But the message I wanted to send to the DDS was I have the back of the President covered. Now, you can take it literally or figuratively," he said.

"But what I meant was, since I believe in the free marketplace of ideas, stones hurled are welcomed, but expect to have bigger stones thrown back at you. I think that’s the nature of the free marketplace of ideas," he added. — BM, GMA News
