Bato commends men for peaceful Undas, says they will do the same during Christmas holidays
Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa commended Monday his men for the successful deployment during Undas, saying they will do the same during holiday season.
“Let me thank and congratulate the PNP members for ensuring peace and order during the commemoration of All Souls and All Saints Day nationwide last week,” Dela Rosa said during the flag ceremony.
In particular, Dela Rosa lauded those deployed in transport terminals and in the vicinities of cemeteries for making sure that the public were able to go to provinces and pay their respects to their dearly departed without the fear of crime or violence in their hearts.
“Once more we have proven that with hard work and vigilance and with the support of the community we can always successfully keep the peace,” he said.
He attributed the success to the maximum deployment they implemented.
“If you have observed there was no significant event that occurred during Undas because of our maximum deployment,” he said.
Dela Rosa said they will implement the same during the eve and day of Christmas and New Year.
“We will do the same during the celebration of Christmas and New Year. Full alert status tayo sa Christmas eve, dapat 5 to 5, 5 p.m., December 24, up to 5 a.m., December 25; and 5 p.m., December 31 to 5 a.m., January 1 lahat tayo ay magtatrabaho, lahat tayo magdu-duty,” he said.
He said those who wanted to spend their holidays in the provinces or elsewhere should report to the nearest police station which will then deploy them.
“Kung gusto ninyo mag-spend ng Pasko sa probinsiya, you should report to the nearest police station and be accounted,” he said.
He said the police personnel will be deployed in areas where indiscriminate firing incidents have been reported in the past.
“You will be deployed sa mga areas wherein talamak ang indiscriminate firing para maiwasan ang gun-related deaths and injuries,” he said. — RSJ, GMA News
