British climber dies on Mt. Everest
A British climber died while attempting to climb Mt. Everest, taking the death toll in the Everest region this season to seven, the Indo Asian News Service (IANS) reported on Wednesday. David Sharp, a 34-year-old from Guisborough, Cleveland, died probably due to lack of oxygen, IANS reported based on information from the Kathmandu-based mountaineering and trekking agency that supported Sharp. Sharp climbed from Tibet as part of a 13-member commercial expedition. He was carrying two oxygen cylinders and a mask but he did not hire a Sherpa, Asian Trekking told IANS. The date of Sharpââ¬â¢s death and reason could not be immediately confirmed by IANS. It was also not immediately known if Sharp had reached the summit, the report said.
