Makati lifts color-coding Friday for Eid'l Fitr

The Makati City government will lift its color-coding scheme on Friday in observance of the “special non-working holiday" marking the October 12 ending of the traditional fasting period of Muslims known as Eid'l Fitr. “All motor vehicles with plate numbers ending in 9 and 0 will be allowed to enter Makati," Ernie San Miguel, director of the Makati’s Department of Public Safety (formerly Makati Public Safety or Mapsa), said. San Miguel said the lifting of the color-coding Friday is Makati’s way of supporting Eid'l Fitr. “The lifting followed the declaration of October 12 as a special non-working holiday to mark the formal end of the traditional fasting period for Muslims or Eid'l Fitr," San Miguel said. The Makati City government, through the Mapsa, is not following the color-coding scheme of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.- GMANews.TV
