Duterte appoints 16 new gov’t prosecutors

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed 16 new government prosecutors, documents show.

Two of the new government prosecutors will be part of the Justice Secretary’s prosecution staff, according to appointment papers forwarded by Malacañang to Justice chief Vitaliano Aguirre II on February 12.

They are Editha Cañares Fernandez and Agnes Farida S. Bagaforo-Arellano II, who will take on the roles of Senior Assistant State Prosecutor and Assistant State Prosecutor, respectively.

Bagaforo-Arellano is replacing Gail Stephanie C. Maderazo.

Eleven of the 16, meanwhile, have been appointed to city prosecutor posts, and three were designated to provincial prosecutors' offices.

The newly-appointed government prosecutors will be serving in Quezon, Iloilo, Manila, Makati, Pasig, Pasay, Rizal, and at the DOJ.

• Tristan Jiff Belmonte Cledera - Prosecutor II (Assistant Provincial Prosecutor), Quezon
• Danilo Trongco Lim - Prosecutor III (Senior Assistant Provincial Prosecutor), Rizal
• Candice Antonnette R. Panol-Agapay - Prosecutor II (Assistant City Prosecutor) Lucena City, Quezon
• Kareen Porquez De La Cruz - Prosecutor II (Assistant City Prosecutor - Iloilo City
• Manolo Geoffrey Cinco Vergara - Prosecutor II (Assistant City Prosecutor), Manila
• Melissa Grace Tanco Perola - Prosecutor II (Assistant City Prosecutor), Manila 
• Erma Joyce Foronda Remudaro - Prosecutor III (Senior Assistant City Prosecutor), Manila
• Julius Caesar Jorge Gaurano - Prosecutor III (Senior Assistant City Prosecutor), Makati City
• Carmelita Rana Delos Santos - Prosecutor III (Senior Assistant City Prosecutor), Makati City
