295 licensed professionals take oath as PNP officers


Nearly 300 licensed professionals have been inducted on Monday as new commissioned officers of the Philippine National Police through its lateral entry program.

PNP chief Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa led the oath taking of the 295 licensed professionals after the regular flag raising ceremony in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The National Police Commission authorized the appointment of 234 police non-commissioned officers, 12 non-uniformed personnel and 49 civilians to new police commissioned officers under the 2017 Lateral Entry Program.

Of this number, 27 lawyers and five medical doctors were appointed to the rank of Police Senior Inspector with a basic monthly pay of P56,582.00. They will also be provided subsistence allowance, clothing allowance, quarters allowance, hazard pay, cost of living allowance, and other compensation.

 

 

Meanwhile, 13 dentists, two psychologists, 24 forensic chemists, 85 nurses, 11 civil engineers, three electrical engineers, two architects, 22 Information Technology Officers, and 18 Communication and Electronics Officers were appointed to the rank of Police Inspector.

A basic monthly salary of  P49,528.00 will be given to them as well as other allowances and fringe benefits.

Director Rene Aspera, director for Personnel and Records Management said that the newly-inducted police commissioned officers will have to undergo the mandatory officers' basic course and field training program before they will be assigned to the Police Regional Offices, National Operational Support Units at Camp Crame, and other Technical Services of the PNP.

Dela Rosa, during his speech in the oath-taking ceremony, said that their entry to the PNP officer corps will invigorate and revitalize the entire organization."

He also warned the new lateral entry officers that they will be dismissed immediately if they will be found to be involved in corruption, illegal drugs, abuse of power and other issues.

"As you commence in this new chapter in your career, I ask that you do so with highest degree of integrity...Integrity, ýan palagi, 'wag kayong magpapasilaw sa pera, maraming bagong opisyal pa lang pagpasok, dahil mali yung kanilang motivation sa pagpasok sa serbisyo, hindi yung serbisyo talaga kundi paano kumita ng pera kaya nagkaloko-loko yung career nila," he said.

"Kung gaano kahirap pumasok, ganon din kadali ko kayo idi-dismiss 'pag kaoý gumawa ng kalokohan...Tanggal na kayo kaagad kaya ayusin ninyo trabaho ninyo, hindi kayo dapat mag-abuso," he added. —NB, GMA News
