NBI clearance certificate fee climbs to P130 due to TRAIN Law

The fee for a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance would climb to P130 in March following the increase in the documentary stamp tax - the tax imposed on documents under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law.

An NBI clearance currently costs P115.

A Saturday evening News TV Live report said that the higher fees would come into effect starting March 12, 2018.

The Train Law, which took effect January 1 this year, also imposed new taxes on oil, cigarettes, sugary drinks, and vehicles. — Margaret Claire Layug/DVM, GMA News
