20k participants expected to join PNP’s fun run with Bato


The Philippine National Police (PNP) is expecting 15,000 to 20,000 participants who will be joining their fun run with PNP chief Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa on Sunday, March 11 at the Quirino Grandstand Parade Ground.

The first chief PNP run dubbed as "Takbo Kontra Drugs" aims to "promote health awareness and empower individuals and communities to be responsible for their own health through running."

The proceeds of the fun run will be used to support the wellness and recovery program of the modified anti-illegal drug campaign "Oplan Tokhang."

At least 10,000 participants have so far registered according to Police Community Relations Group chief Senior Superintendent Rhodel Sermonia.

 

 

Assembly time is at 2:30 a.m. at the Quirino Grandstand.

The southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to P. Ocampo, Manila will be closed to motorists from 3 a.m. onward.

Sermonia said that a "PulisNatin Caravan" will also be conducted after the fun run which will cater to complaints and bring police services to the public such as issuance of clearances and the processing of License to Own and Possess Firearms, firearms registration, and Permit to Carry Firearms Outside Residence, among others.

He added that a livelihood expo of at least 1,000 drug surrenderers will also be conducted. —KG, GMA News
