Duterte says he wants grandson to become Davao City mayor
President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday expressed his desire to see one of his grandsons become mayor of Davao City.
In a speech in Patikul, Sulu, Duterte said that he wasn't interested in extending his term contrary to speculations amid his administration's push for Charter change but pushed for a grandson's political career.
At least may dumaang mayor na Muslim," he added.
Former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte was previously married to a Maranao, Lovelie Sumera.
Their son Omar was with Duterte at the event in Patikul.
Duterte recently said that he was in favor of constitutional provisions banning political dynasties but expressed doubt whether they would pass. —Virgil Lopez/NB, GMA News
