Maynilad: Water interruptions loom in parts of Metro Manila, Cavite
Customers of the Maynilad Water Services Inc. should brace for water interruptions as the water concessionaire said it still has yet to receive enough water supply.
"As of yesterday, April 13 (Friday), Maynilad’s La Mesa Treatment Plants still received less than its proper allocation of raw water supply," the company said in an advisory.
"Maynilad is entitled to receive 60 percent of raw water but it has been getting less since April 1 (Sunday), and this resulted to a significant drop in the company’s stored water," it added.
Given the situation, Maynilad said it was constrained to implement daily service interruptions, which will affect some portions of its concession area.
"Interruption schedules will be announced on a daily basis, as the schedule will be determined by the amount of raw water that our La Mesa Treatment Plants are able to receive," Maynilad said.
"Today, April 14 (Saturday), the same Maynilad customers who were affected by the service interruptions since April 12 because of this issue will experience low water pressure to no water supply starting 3 p.m. today until 4 a.m. tomorrow, April 15 (Sunday)," it added.

"We will issue another advisory if a different schedule has to be implemented tomorrow," Maynilad said.
It added that it was constantly monitoring the level of raw water entering its treatment facilities.
"Once Manila Water is finally able to restore Maynilad’s 60 percent raw water, Maynilad can start refilling its Bagbag Reservoir and gradually bring water supply back to normal levels. The pressure build-up will take another three to four days before the supply stabilizes in the affected areas," the company said.
"Affected customers are advised to store water during times of the day when supply is available. Maynilad has water tankers on standby, ready to deliver water upon request," it added.
Maynilad said it was committed to protect the well-being of its customers.
"We will continue to engage with the relevant stakeholders so we can provide water supply at the service levels that our customers need," it said. — MDM, GMA News
