NYC urges youth to go out, vote for SK
The National Youth Commission (NYC) on Monday urged the youth to practice their right to vote for members of their respective youth councils.
"SK (Sangguniang Kabataan) is the perfect platform for our young people to participate in governance so talagang napakahalaga nitong SK election and ang SK leaders natin," NYC Assistant Secretary Paul Anthony Pangilinan said in an interview on Balitanghali.
"Sila 'yung magiging ka-partner ng ating administration para sa pag-implement at pagsulong ng mga inaasam asam natin na pagbabago sa ating bansa," he said.
Following two earlier postponements, the Barangay and SK elections are finally held across the country on Monday.
During the elections, voters aged 18 to 31 should fill out both the barangay ballot and the SK ballot. They will have to choose one punong barangay or barangay captain, seven kagawads or barangay councilors, one SK chairperson, and seven SK members.
Voters aged 15 to 17 should only vote for the SK council, while those aged 31 and above should only vote for the barangay council. —Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/ALG, GMA News
