Ex-presidents, GMA-7 chairman Gozon pay tribute to Ed Angara
Former Presidents, national and business leaders have paid tribute to the late Senate President Edgardo Angara.
According to Jam Sisante's report on "State of the Nation with Jessica Soho", former President Fidel Ramos said he was "a humanitarian."
"He was a not a total politician nor just a lawyer. He was humanitarian," Ramos said.
Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said Angara was a "supportive" colleague and leader in the Senate.
"He was a very supportive Senate President when we were senators and I supported him," Arroyo said.
GMA-7 chairman Felipe Gozon knew Angara from the days when he was just starting a career in law.
"He's a very quiet guy. Pero magaling talaga 'yang si ED. Organizer yan eh. I'm not surprised he reached all these positions," Gozon said.
Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon was with Angara on Saturday, the day before the 83-year-old former senator died.
"Biniro ko siya dahil marami pa siyang planong sinasabi sa akin. Sabi ko, 'Alam mo Ed, dapat ikaw ay mabuhay hanggang ikaw ay 183 years old, dahilan sa 83 ka ngayon, sa dami mo pang plano," Drilon said. —NB, GMA News
