Almost all winning candidates in barangay, SK polls proclaimed, says Comelec

The Commission on Elections on Tuesday said almost all winning candidates in Monday's barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections have been proclaimed.

Almost all winning candidates in yesterday’s Barangay-SK elections have been proclaimed.

Comelec spokesperson Director James Jimenez said that as of 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, 94.01 percent of all winners have been proclaimed.

Jimenez reminded all those who filed a Certificate of Candidacy to file their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) by June 13.

“Kapag hindi ka nakapag-file ng SOCE, ikaw ay hindi mauupo,” Jimenez warned.

As for losing candidates, “'yung natalo, kapag hindi ka nag-file ng SOCE, papasok 'yan sa record niya... Kung maraming beses mong ginawa 'yan, magkakaroon ka ng disqualification case later on,” Jimenez added.

He said the Comelec has so far disqualified around 1,000 recidivist non-SOCE filers.

Meanwhile, the Comelec also reminded the public that although the liquor ban is no longer in effect, the gun ban still is.

The gun ban will remain in effect until May 21, the same day as the end of the election period. —KG, GMA News
