New chief asks DOT assistant secretaries, undersecretaries to resign

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat on Tuesday said she has asked all undersecretaries and assistant secretaries of the department to submit courtesy resignations.

Puyat announced the move during her first press conference.

The Department of Tourism has at least 10 assistant secretaries and undersecretaries.

President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Puyat to the post last week as a replacement for Wanda Teo, who resigned amid the controversial P60-million tourism ad payments to her brother's media entity. —ALG, GMA News
