Parts of Manila, QC to experience 32-hour water cutoff - Maynilad
Some areas of Manila and Quezon City will have no water for 32 hours starting 1 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2007 until 9:00 a.m., Sunday, October 28, 2007, Maynilad Water Services said Monday. In a statement, Maynilad said the service interruption is due to the interconnection of four of its primary pipelines, as well as other operational maintenance works. The areas that will have no water for 32 hours in Manila are the following: Whole of Sta. Mesa, San Miguel, Quiapo and Pandacan. Portions of Paco bounded by Creek on the West and Pres. Quirino on the Northeast and Southeast. Portions of Binondo bounded by Estero del Binondo, Estero dela Reina, CM Recto, Estero de Magdalena, Estero dela Reina and Pasig River. Portions of Sta. Cruz bounded by CM Recto, Estero de Magdalena, Muelle de Banco Nacional and Estero de Binondo; Bambang Ext., Estero de Magdalena, CM Recto and Antonio Rivera; Bambang Ext., Mayhaligue, Quezon Blvd., CM Recto and Estero de Magdalena; CM Recto, Quezon Blvd., Pasig River and Estero dela Reina; CM Recto, Estero de San Miguel, Pasig River and Quezon Blvd. Portions of Tondo bounded by Moriones, Ilaya, CM Recto and Juan Luna. Portions of Sampaloc (Batanes, G. Tuazon, Gov. Forbes, España, portion of Recto, Lerma, Galicia, Earnshaw, San Anton, Legarda). Affected areas in Quezon City are the following barangays: Don Manuel, Doña Aurora, Doña Imelda, Santol, Sto. Niño and San Isidro. "To alleviate the water situation of affected residents, Maynilad will be deploying a total of 47 mobile water tankers. Affected customers are nonetheless advised to store water good for the duration of the water service interruption," Maynilad said.
