PNP records over 900 motorcycle-rider shootings from October 2017 to June 4, 2018

More than 900 shooting incidents involving motorcycle-riding suspects have been recorded by the Philippine National Police from October 11, 2017 to June 4, 2018.

According to Mariz Umali's report on "24 Oras", the PNP has recorded 933 such shooting incidents during the said period.

It added that 12 motorcycle-riding suspects had been killed in separate operations.

However, 1,070 suspects involved in the said cases remain at-large.

The number of crimes involving motorcycle-riders has prompted the PNP to come up with a registration campaign for riders.

"Clean-riders" or those who are found free of criminal records after their personal data and documents are processed are given stickers that would spare them from stringent inspection at police checkpoints. —NB, GMA News
