Transport group demands LTFRB chief Delgra’s resignation
The Alliance of Concerned Transport Operators (ACTO) on Monday protested before the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) head office to call for the resignation of Chairman Martin Delgra III.
According to a report by Saleema Refran on GMA's "Balitanghali," ACTO criticized Delgra's leadership of the national modernization program, with national president Efren de Luna saying that Delgra was turning the program into "martial law."
The PUV modernization program seeks to update and upgrade the country's public utility vehicles.
The report clarified, however, that ACTO did not protest the modernization program itself.
ACTO was also said to have protested the LTFRB order which mandated the consolidation of franchises plying the same route under one group, which is supposed to take effect by 2019.
The report said Delgra has yet to release a statement on the matter. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
