Karen Jimeno quits Malacañang post to study abroad
Lawyer Karen Jimeno on Sunday revealed she resigned last month from her post as Undersecretary for Disaster Resiliency, as she is now taking graduate studies in the United States.
In a post on her official Twitter account, Jimeno said she quit her post to pursue her graduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley.
Ma’am FYI po i finished my task of working w/ other agencies in drafting the draft Disaster Bill w/c was presented to Cabinet & mentioned by PRRD in his SONA. I resigned in July & taking a Masters now in UC Berkeley. I havent received my salary as Usec for Disaster Res up to now.

Jimeno joined the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) in May, and has assisted in drafting the disaster response bill, in line with the creation of the Department of Disaster Resilience.
"As USec for PMS, I finished my task of helping draft a Disaster Bill before resigning. I haven't received a salary for that post. I'm still helping with the review and research now pro bono," she said.
