NCRPO chief Eleazar promoted to next higher rank

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the promotion of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) head Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar to Police Director.

The Office of the President informed Department of the Interior and Local Government officer-in-charge Eduardo Año of Eleazar's promotion through a letter dated August 16, 2018.

The letter said Eleazar's promotion was endorsed by the Civil Service Commission and recommended by the National Police Commission.

Eleazar, a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 1987,  was named NCRPO chief in June 2018. He is set to retire on November 13, 2021.

As NCRPO chief, Eleazar is known as a disciplinarian, conducting surprise visits to police stations and publicly castigating erring policemen. —KBK, GMA News
