Duterte tours military facility, holds Cabinet meeting in Jordan
Apart from a meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II and an attendance at a forum with businessmen, President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday also toured a military facility and conducted a Cabinet meeting in the Hashemite Kingdom.
Photos released by Malacañang showed Duterte having a discussion with the king while visiting a military facility at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center in the Jordanian capital of Amman.
Duterte and the Jordanian monarch watched an urban guerrilla demonstration during the visit, which came after the business forum where he pledged to send Filipino troops in case Jordan, which has been fending off ISIS threats, needs them.
The President also presided over a meeting with some Cabinet members who are part of his official delegation.
Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go said Duterte was given a briefing on economic and security matters.
The President is due to return to the Philippines on Saturday, a day earlier than scheduled, as he wraps up his visit to Jordan with a meet and greet with the Filipino community there on Friday afternoon (evening in Manila). —KBK, GMA News
