Trillanes says he’ll check Duterte’s Bar exam records
Opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Saturday said he will soon look into the records of President Rodrigo Duterte's bar exam results as he lambasted the chief executive's understanding of the law for ordering his arrest.
“Siguro kailangang review-hin kung talaga bang nakapasa ng Bar itong si Duterte," Trillanes said at a press conference at the Senate.
"Someday papahanap natin 'yug resulta ng exam niyan baka nga talagang nilakad lang 'yan. I'm serious about it because he doesn't act like he knows the law. He flouts the law at every turn," said the former military officer-turned-lawmaker.
Trillanes made the remark following Duterte's revocation of his amnesty through Proclamation No. 572, which declared it void due to his failure to comply with the "minimum requirements to qualify." The proclamation was announced only on Tuesday.
The senator's camp has since asked the Supreme Court to block the nullification of his amnesty.
During the press conference, Trillanes insisted that he has complied with all the requirements for his amnesty, saying it was Duterte's proclamation that should be declared "void and nullified."
"Baka talagang nilakad lang ito [Duterte] sa Bar. Sorry sa San Beda College of Law, I'm not impressed with your product, which is Mr. Duterte," the senator said. — MDM, GMA News
