SUSUNOD KA RIN

Duterte hits back at priest who wished him sick: Mamatay na kayo sa venereal disease

President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday lashed out at a priest who jokingly wished him sick during a Mass held for Senator Antonio Trillanes IV in the Senate, and returned the ill will — wishing the priest would die of sexually transmitted disease.

Duterte, in his speech at the Davao City Airport, reiterated he does not have the same God as the Catholics, and slammed the religious institution for allegedly being the "most corrupt and hypocritical" in the country.

"Well if we have the same God, then I would appreciate it. But the problem is, their God, together with the religious idiots around, pati 'yung mga Bishop, and to think that they are being sued worldwide for abuses against children. In America, there is a flood of cases filed against the Catholic Church for abuses which happened to us also here," Duterte said.

"Ngayon, ang Katoliko, the same problem, sabi pa ng isang pari na mamatay ako, 'wag kang mag-alala Father. Whether I die today or I die tomorrow, it does not matter to me anymore, tapos na ako. Ikaw kulang ka pa sa happy, dagdagan mo 'yang mga girlfriends mo diyan. T*** i** niyo akala niyo hindi namin alam?" he added.

Duterte, born and raised a Catholic, slammed the attitude of the priest that delivered his homily amid the arrest order against Trillanes, and wished that priests would get sick as well.

"Kung mamatay ako, tutal susunod ka rin eh. But the likes of you, itong pari, oh my God, to wish ill, saan ka nakakita ng pari na [mag-wish 'Mamatay sana si Duterte']. Sabihin ko na lang din, mamatay sana kayong lahat ng venereal disease, lalo na 'yung mga pari na walang perang magkabit diyan sa tabi-tabi ng Pasay. At saka may orphanage kayo, existing now where 'yung mga anak ninyo na sikreto diyan nilalagay. Kunwari pinapalabas ninyo."

"The most hypocritical institution in the Philippines today, mga pari."

Trillanes is currently at the custody of the Senate pending the revocation of his amnesty by Duterte's Proclamation 572. The Senate sergeant-at-arms has been ordered to prevent Trillanes' arrest.

The celebration of a Mass and the entry of Trillanes' supporters at the Senate premises over the weekend has already been prohibited by Senate President Vicente Sotto III.
