Duterte, Pacquiao to stand as godfathers in Koko Pimentel’s wedding

President Rodrigo Duterte, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III and Emmanuel Pacquiao, among others, will stand as principal sponsors in the wedding of Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel, Jr. and Kathyrna Yu scheduled on October 18.

Pimentel, a former Senate President, made the announcement over his Facebook page on Thursday

“I am happy to share that aside from President Rodrigo Duterte, Senate President Vicente Sotto and wife, Helen Gamboa-Sotto, Senator Manny Pacquiao and wife Jinkee Pacquiao, Leyte Representative Yedda Marie Romualdez, Representative Pantaleon Alvarez and Special Assistant to the President Christopher "Bong" Go, among others, will also stand as principal sponsors in my civil wedding to be held on October 18, 2018 at the Coconut Palace,” Pimentel said.

Pimentel serves as the President of the ruling party PDP-Laban chaired by President Duterte.

Yu, on the other hand, heads the humanitarian arm of PDP-Laban and cooking is one of her hobbies.

Pimentel has been previously married to beauty queen Jewel Lobaton who represented the country in the 1998 Miss Universe pageant. They got married in 2000, and their marriage was annuled in January 2018. They have two sons.  —Llanesca Panti/NB, GMA News
