Trillanes back at Senate on Monday to pursue Calida, Bong Go, drug war probe

Declaring he will return to the Senate on Monday, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Saturday said he will follow up on his pending resolutions against Solicitor General Jose Calida, Special Assistant to the President Bong Go and President Rodrigo Duterte's alleged involvement in illegal drugs.

Trillanes was leading a Senate investigation into a Calida family-owned security agency which had landed several lucrative government contracts.

The senator also earlier this month filed a resolution seeking a Senate probe on possible conflict of interest arising from government contracts obtained by the kin of government employees and officials, particularly that of Go.

Trillanes also again criticized the "double-standard" Duterte's war on drugs.

"Nagpapanggap siyang galit siya sa droga para hindi niyo paghinalaan ng taong bayan. Pero nakikita niyong pumapasok through Customs. Hindi siya nagagalit sa mga pangyayaring 'yan. In fact mas iniipit niya ang mga nanghuhuli. In due time liliwanag 'yan," he said.

The senator as well lashed out at Paolo "Pulong" Duterte, the President's son, whom he alleged to be involved in a drug triad.

"Hanggang ngayon nga ang tattoo sa likod ni Pulong 'di pa niya ipinapakita. Prove me wrong, pero gagawin natin 'yan sa korte. Anyway pina-file-an niya ako ng libel," Trillanes said.

After more than three weeks holed up at the Senate, the senator left for his home on Saturday morning after a Makati court judge deferred action on the Department of Justice's bid to have an arrest warrant and hold departure order issued against Trillanes.

The senator's amnesty, granted by the Aquino administration, was revoked by the President.
