Senate, House ratify bicam report on extended maternity leave
By NIMFA RAVELO, ERWIN COLCOL, GMA News
The measure providing for extended maternity leave is closer to becoming a law after the Senate and the House of Representatives both ratified on Wednesday night the bicameral conference committee report on the bill.
The measure now only needs President Rodrigo Duterte's signature to be enacted.
Once it becomes a law, working mothers will enjoy up to 105 days of paid leave, 7 of which will be added to their husbands’ paternity leave, and an additional 15 days for solo mothers.
The four-children limit will also be lifted to ensure the working mothers’ freedom of choice. —NB, GMA News
