Erap swamped by supporters in visit to Tondo
Former President Joseph Estrada was swamped by his supporters when he arrived at a poor community in Tondo district at 10:05 a.m., Saturday with Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, radio dzBB said. The report said Estrada went to the area to support his wife's project in Dealco area in Vitas, Tondo. The ousted leader, who was pardoned by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo last October 25, was also with his son, Senator Jinggoy Estrada and former senator Ernesto Maceda, one of the leaders of the United Opposition. DzBB said Estrada would proceed to Smokey Mountain after his visit in Dealco. Estrada, who said he was slowly adjusting to normal life, made his first public engagement as "citizen Erap," in a medical mission with wife Dr. Luisa "Loi" Ejercito. "Mahal na mahal ko kayo...kundi dahil sa mahirap walang Erap (I love you very much....I am nothing without my supporters from the poor sectors of society)," Estrada told his supporters in Tondo during a short program. Radio dzBB earlier reported that many of the supporters wore green headgears with the message "Erap Not Guilty!" and carried large photos of Estrada. - GMANews.TV
