After admitting hospital tests, Duterte calls Robredo weak

President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday reiterated he was not comfortable with leaving the country with his constitutional successor Vice President Leni Robredo.

Duterte expressed his doubts of Robredo's leadership in the same speech in which he admitted having a check up at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center the day before.

"She's very good, she's gentle, pero mahina talaga si Leni," Duterte said before the members of the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc.

"Hindi mahina 'yung utak. Pumasa ng bar eh. Mahina sa diskarte and ang sasakay niyan, 'yung left," he added.

"It was reputiated so why would I give it to the left? Why would I give it to the yellow," Duterte said.

Duterte in the same speech admitted that he went to the hospital on Wednesday.

Duterte, 73, said he was at the hospital for some tests.

"I was about to have a sana ngayong Cabinet meeting yesterday but yung reading ng aking ano, somebody advised my doctor just also to repeat and get some samples there, both dito ulit," Duterte said.

"So I stayed there in one hour sa Cardinal Santos. So hindi ko pa masabi kung meron ba talaga akong tama o wala," he added.

Duterte made the disclosure in a speech before members of the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association.

"If it’s cancer, it’s cancer. If it’s third stage, no more treatment. I will no longer prolong my agony in the office," Duterte said.

Hours earlier, his spokesman Harry Roque denied that Duterte went to a hospital after skipping his scheduled activity on Wednesday.
