Jinggoy says he and JV not on speaking terms; thought half-brod won’t run for senator

Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada on Tuesday said he thought his half-brother Senator JV Ejercito would not run for a seat in the Senate.

Estrada, who's out on bail while facing plunder raps in connection with the P10-billion pork barrel scam, said he and JV were not on speaking terms.

“Kala ko mag-wi-withdraw siya. Pero okay lang,. This is a free country. Anybody can run, as long as he or she is qualified,” Jinggoy said.

“I haven’t talked to him or seen him in a while. I only see him on television. We are not on speaking terms,” he added.

Jinggoy and JV are sons of former President and Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada; Jinggoy with former Senator Loi Ejercito Estrada and JV with San Juan Mayor Guia Gomez.

Jinggoy also denied that their father supported him more because he was absent when JV filed his certificate of candidacy.

“Wala namang ganun [na mas sinusuportahan ako]. I requested my parents, my father and my mother, to accompany me,” Jinggoy said.

“Hindi ko alam [bakit ‘di siya nasamahan]. Siguro ‘di tinawagan ni Senator JV ang aming ama. I don’t know,” he added. —NB, GMA News
