LTO, PDEA conduct inspection at Araneta Bus Terminal ahead of Undas

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Monday conducted inspection on buses and terminals as passengers started flocking to the provinces for the All Saints' and All Souls' Day holidays, according to Bam Alegre's report on Unang Balita.

LTO checked the registration, license, lights, brakes and tires of the buses to ensure the safety of passengers in Araneta Bus Terminal in Quezon City.

Through the inspection, LTO discovered a driver whose license was already expired but was about to drive a bus heading to Naga City. The driver was barred from driving.

Meanwhile, agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) were also present at the terminal to conduct drug tests on drivers.

A report by Allan Gatus on Dobol B sa News TV said one driver tested positive for illegal drug use.

The Unang Balita report said many passengers went early to the terminal to get to their destination.

Passengers are expected to crowd the terminals as the long holiday nears, but on Monday, the Araneta Bus Terminal’s passengers are on average number.
