Japan police to step into shooting of Japanese scribe

The Japanese police will step into the investigation of a shooting incident involving a Japanese journalist in Pasig City Tuesday. Radio dzBB reported Wednesday that the Japanese embassy has started coordinating with the Pasig City police to explore all possible angles behind the attack on Yoshihko Sakai, 43. According to the report, the Japanese police wanted to make sure "motives" other than the "road rage" angle are explored thoroughly. Initial investigation showed the incident took place before dawn Tuesday, when Sakai was driving his Isuzu Trooper at 3:45 a.m. in Kapitolyo village in Pasig City. He allegedly overtook a motorcycle, but the occupants of the motorcycle "intercepted" him at the corner of Reliance and Pioneer Streets. - GMANews.TV
