It's make or break for us, Bong Revilla's wife Lani says on promulgation day

It's "make or break" not only for former Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr but also for his family, his wife, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado, said Friday, the day the Sandiganbayan will rule on his plunder case.

"Make or break itong araw na ito para sa amin so we hope and pray, ilang oras na lang malalamaan na natin desisyon," Mercado said in an interview in Camp Crame an hour before the promulgation of judgment.

Mercado said she is confident her husband — one of the three former senators facing plunder in connection with the pork barrel scam — will be acquitted, although she added that the judgment will be up to the Sandiganbayan First Division.

"Siyempre asawa ako, nakikita ko na in favor of Senator Bong yung nangyayari. Pero hindi ako ang justice so basta bahala na Panginoon sa mga magaganap sa buhay namin," she said.

Mercado was at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame where Revilla has been detained since 2014. —KBK, GMA News
