Boxes of dynamites, blasting caps found near Sampaloc dorm

Tension was high in a community at the Sampaloc district in Manila City Friday morning after boxes containing dynamites, blasting caps and cable wires were found near a dormitory. Radio dzBB reported that two boxes were discovered along Lacson St., Sampaloc, Manila near the corner of Laong Laan and Dapitan Streets, across the Holy Family dormitory. A closer inspection by Manila police Explosives and Ordnance Division and Police Station 4 operatives revealed that the boxes contained 150 pieces of "commercial-type" dynamite, a roll of cable and blasting caps. The report said police are now looking for an old woman who allegedly left the boxes in the area. The incident came a day after an explosion believed to have been caused by blasting caps killed at least four people in Cavite. - GMAnews.TV
