11 students rushed to hospital for mercury contamination

Some 11 students from a Parañaque elementary school were rushed to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) on Tuesday after exposure to mercury in the school’s laboratory. GMA 7’s 24-Oras reported that a teacher and students performed an experiment with mercury, exposing some students allegedly due to improper handling of the chemical. The students are being treated in PGH, and the attending physicians declared the them safe. GMANEWS.TV
