Duterte adds four more to list of endorsed Senate bets

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday disclosed additional names of senatorial candidates he would endorse for the upcoming midterm elections in May.

The candidates are Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, reelectionist Senators Cynthia Villar and Sonny Angara, as well as Taguig City Representative Pia Cayetano.

All four are not members of Duterte's PDP-Laban party.

"Of course they supported me and I have to support them. That's the right thing to do," Duterte told reporters in Pasay City after his speech before tricycle drivers and operators.

“I will be supporting those who supported me during the last election. Utang na loob ‘yan eh."

Duterte had already endorsed former Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go, former Philippine National Police Chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and former presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino.

Twelve seats are up for grabs in the senatorial polls. —NB, GMA News
