Comelec sends notices to Senate bets who have illegal posters

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has given written notices to some senatorial candidates who had supposedly violated the Fair Elections Act due to their illegal posters.

Interviewed on Dobol B sa News TV on Thursday, Commissioner Rowena Guanzon said some of those senatorial candidates include two incumbent senators.

"Kasi paulit-ulit naman sinasabi na namin take down your illegal posters.

Hindi pupuwedeng i-deny 'yan," she added.

The Comelec earlier set February 14 as the deadline for candidates to remove their illegal campaign materials which are either over-sized or placed in prohibited areas.

The Comelec will have teams which would take down these illegal campaign posters and document the failure of the candidates to do so for proper legal action starting February 15. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
