DADDY DUTIES

Despite campaign activities, Mar still finds time for Pepe and Pilar

MABALACAT, Pampanga — Despite his busy schedule campaigning for his Senate bid, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas still finds time for his duties as a father to his newly-born twins.

In an ambush interview with reporters on Wednesday, Roxas said he was very happy to be a father to twins Pepe and Pilar.

"Napakasarap talaga at hindi talaga mabura sa labi ko yung ngiti dahil parati nasa isip ko si Pepe at si Pilar," he told reporters here during a campaign stop.

Last week, Roxas and wife, veteran TV broadcaster Korina Sanchez, announced the arrival of their twins, who were conceived through surrogacy.

Even though he is always away from his twins due to his campaign duties, Roxas said he never forgets to ensure that they are well and taken care of.

"Yung sa Facetime, nakikita ko sila bago umalis ng bahay. Pagbalik sa bahay, nakikita ko sila. Inaalagaan naman sila ng nanay nila na si Korina," he said.

Roxas also ensures that Pepe and Pilar are fed two hours on schedule, as he said he believes proper nourishment is important for their nutritional development.

"Kasi ito yung growing years e. Kung mawala sa every two hours ang pakain ng isang sanggol, maaantala ang kanyang development," he said.

Aside from Pepe and Pilar, Roxas also has a 25-year-old son, Paolo, from his previous relationship. —KBK, GMA News
