A fire hit the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) office in Quezon City Monday morning, destroying several evidence obtained in the agencyâs anti-drug operations. Radio dzBB reported that a fire broke out inside the PDEA compound at the NIA Northside Road in Brgy. Pinyahan around 10 a.m. At least three confiscated vehicles allegedly used in illegal drug operations were destroyed in the incident, the report added. In a separate report, radio dzMM said also feared burned during the fire were illegal drugs and other chemical substances being kept in the compound as evidence. This, after residents near the PDEA compound complained of the strong odor emanating from the fumes of the morning blaze. Initial reports reaching authorities showed that several construction workers were working near the Evidence Room of the PDEA when the fire broke out. Investigators are verifying information that someone accidentally pushed aside a container of acetylene that could have caused the room to burst in flames. - GMANews.TV
