Free transport services, museum admissions for women on March 8 —Commission on Women


The management of various public transport modes, museums, and agencies in the country announced that women may avail of free rides and services on March 8, 2019, in line with the celebration of the International Women's Day.

Women may ride the LRT-2 trains free of charge on Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Free rides for female commuters will also be available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at MRT-3.

The Pasig River Ferry Service also offers free rides for women passengers all-day long on Friday.

Female visitors of Fort Santiago, Casa Manila Museum, and the Baluarte de San Diego in Intramuros are likewise entitled to free admission.

Free entrance to Intramuros and Rizal Bagumbayan Light and Sound Museum in Manila is also up for grabs for the first 100 female walk-in visitors.

There will also be free shows for women including transgender women at the full-dome of the National Planetarium.

Meanwhile, the Office of the Ombudsman offers free issuance of clearance to all walk-in female clients from March 8 to 15, 2019. —Dona Magsino/ LDF, GMA News
