Roxas would do anything for the people, even direct traffic – Erice

Senate candidate Mar Roxas' campaign manager, Caloocan City Rep. Edgar Erice, said that Roxas would do anything to serve the country and its citizens, even "direct traffic when no one is there to do so."

Erice, who was responding to a jibe made by President Rodrigo Duterte, pointed out that Roxas had persevered to bring the call center industry to the country, and had opposed pharmaceutical companies by enacting the Cheaper Medicines Law.

"He is running for the Senate because he believes that he can contribute by way of  quality legislation that will put sense to our economic policies," Roxas' campaign manager explained. "Babantayan nya ang presyo ng bilihin, gagawa ng kaparaanan para sa pagkakataon sa trabaho at aayusin ang sweldo ng hindi maging agrabyado ang mangagawang Pilipino."

Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte made fun of Roxas for directing traffic on Commonwealth Avenue in 2009, during former President Gloria Arroyo's last State of the Nation Address.

"Roxas was managing traffic. Oy Roxas, if that is the only thing that you are capable of doing, you should have worked as a traffic aide instead," said Duterte, who was in Sagay, Negros Occidental during the distribution of Certificate of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs). — DVM, GMA News
