Duterte skips distribution of land reform certificates in Davao City
President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday skipped an event with agrarian reform beneficiaries in his hometown Davao City.
Malacañang has yet to give a statement why the President did not attend the ceremonial distribution of certificates of land ownership award in Davao Region held at the University of Mindanao.
Duterte was represented in the ceremony, which was slated for 5 p.m., by his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
The mayor also led the commemoration rites for the 122nd death anniversary of national hero Jose Rizal on her father’s behalf on December 30 last year in Davao.
The President, meanwhile, is set to attend the People’s Political Grand Rally at the Crocodile Park Grounds in Barangay Ma-a, Davao City at 9 p.m.
Duterte is expected to pitch for votes for his preferred senatorial candidates during the campaign rally. —NB, GMA News
