Bus firm ends 'honesty system' in fare collection; experiment fails

A bus company has been forced to end its "honesty system" in collecting fare as some passengers were not honest in paying their fare.

"End of honesty system. We are disappointed to see that it did not work," the Green Frog Hybrid Bus firm said in a Facebook post.

"Over 30 percent of the passengers did not pay their fare," it added.

Last week, the bus company bared its honesty system guidelines in which passengers may pay exact fare or use their tap cards.

Due to the failure of the "honesty" experiment, the firm would revert to the usual conductor-fare-collection system. —Anna Felicia Bajo/LBG, GMA News
